As the Center relaxed some strict restrictions in the fourth phase of the shutdown from Monday, state governments relaxed more lockdown restrictions to increase economic activity in the non-control coronavirus zone.
While the Mizoram government announced that it was extending the lock down till May 31, Bihar, on the other hand, urged the Center and the railway staff to continue unprecedented measures till the end of the month in addition to rail and air traffic. No state wants to withdraw full lockout
Following the states’ suggestions, an MHA official said that no state wants to withdraw the lockdown altogether, but all want to resume economic activities gradually, according to PTI.
The official also said that states and union territories may have the right to make decisions if the restrictions are relaxed. However, the final guidelines will be issued by Maharashtra only after suggestions from the state governments.
